One of the pleasures of my job is being able to talk to film artists I admire–folks like Spike Lee, who is a director I’ll follow anywhere, even when he’s making a belly-flop like She Hate Me or Girl 6.  I’ve seen Lee in person at various Q&A’s and junkets over the years, but finally had the chance to talk with him one-on-one the other day over the phone.  I have to admit it wasn’t the easiest interview I’ve ever had–he’s one of those reluctant talkers–but I think the conversation turned out well anyway.  Enjoy!

Talking With…Spike Lee

It’s been awhile (about two years to be precise), but I’m happy to report that Oscar Talk is once again live on NYC Film Critics.  Joining me, as always, is friend and fellow movie lover Nick Spagnoli, new reporting from the ‘burbs of Washington D.C.  Over the next two weeks, we’ll be taking a look at the races in the major categories, offering opinions about who will win, who should win and who got snubbed.  Kicking off the triumphant return of Oscar Talk is Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress.  Enjoy!
